-Hollow Dreams-

Found Piece is a five piece hard rock band from Haverhill, Massachusetts. Long time friends, and musicians joined together from two separate projects to form the Found Piece that you know today, and have been performing together since August, 2015. The band draws influence from Sevendust, Avenged Sevenfold, Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Bullet For My Valentine, Break My Fall, and many more. The eclectic style of Found Piece comes from the collaborative nature of the project. Check us out on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube. We can’t wait to show you what we have in store!

Vocals

Matt (Alaska) Franklin

Matt (Alaska) Franklin began playing guitar when he was 14 years old, but retired his other instruments when he turned his focus to vocals at 18. Though he has put down the guitar, and picked up the microphone with Found Piece, Matt hasn’t completely given up on other instruments, and still enjoys playing now and then. However, singing lead in Found Piece is his focus.

When he was younger Matt found inspiration in music constantly, and this was his driving force in learning to create it. He wanted to be able to inspire others the way he had been in his youth. Matt got his drive to become a vocalist from Slipknot, his first CD (that he purchased for himself) in 1999. He wanted to be able to emulate the style of Corey Taylor, while creating his own style in the process.

Matt is thrilled to be a part of Found Piece, and can’t wait to see where this road takes him, and his band mates.

Drums

Michael (Bubba) Ferrick

Michael (AKA Mike, Bubba) has been playing drums for over 10 years. He spent 4 years in the band Break My Fall alongside current guitarist Gene Walsh. With Break My Fall, Mike played  many shows throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire, opening up for multiple national acts such as Candlebox, The Misfits, and My Darkest Days. Mike has also played on local radio shows.

After Break My Fall disbanded, Mike worked doing booking and stage work with New England Concerts for 3 Years and left in January 2015 to dedicate himself more so to creating music.

His influences include Sevendust, Led Zeppelin,Taproot, Tool and many, many more. He can’t wait to see you all out for this new project!

Guitar

Gene Walsh

Gene Walsh has been studying music since 1996, and has managed to channel that passion into a lifestyle, which can be rare to find in this day. When not performing, and practicing he teaches guitar, bass, and piano.

Gene was in the band Break My Fall, alongside the drummer of Found Piece Mike, for four years. They had the opportunity to open for national headliners, and he can’t wait to reach those heights and higher goals once again with Found Piece.

After the disbandment of Break My Fall, Gene continued to play and hone his craft while jamming with other musicians in the area, until Found Piece was born. Gene has performed with many bands, and is constantly looking to further his knowledge and experience in the music industry. Be it working as an audio technician, or crafting his own custom guitar. When not playing the guitar for Found Piece, Gene also plays the guitar, bass, piano, saxophone, alt.percussion and also backing vocals. Gene has a B.F.A from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, and is a current student at Berklee College Music.

Gene’s influences include, among others, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Mongolian Chop Squad, Nothing More, Bullet For My Valentine, and Break My Fall.

Guitar

Eric Santa

Eric Santa joined Found Piece in 2019 as its fourth member. Eric has been obsessed with music since as long as he can remember. He has eclectic tastes and hasn’t heard any music he doesn’t like. Music is his therapy and helps him channel his suffering into healing. Beginning with a drum set in his basement, then adding guitar, bass, and vocals, as a one-man band Eric disturbed the neighbors with his endless practicing at all hours in his pursuit to find peace. Through proper training and self-discipline, Eric has now finally achieved enough control of his inner turmoil to create the rhythmic power supporting the band as a bassist and hopes to bring it’s healing to all who listen. Turns out all this time spent looking for peace was actually for Found Piece.

Bass

Mike Goulette

Ever since a young age, being a musician was a dream of Mike’s. Bass was always an instrument that stood out to him. Before learning bass he was encouraged to take piano lessons. After two years of lessons, Mike translated what he had learned from the piano to the bass.

Some of Mike’s biggest musical inspirations derive from Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin and others from that genre.
